STIKABA Operation Levels

STIKABA is designed to be flexible and scalable, providing capabilities appropriate for everyone from an individual protecting personal information to a security professional managing encryption resources throughout a large organization.

This scalability is provided through five Operation Levels:

Personal → Associate → Partner → Enterprise → Director

Every STIKABA ships from the factory at the Personal Operation Level. As requirements grow, the owner can upgrade the STIKABA through the STIKABA Dashboard, which interfaces with the Upgrade page on the SyferSafe website.

Each higher Operation Level increases the STIKABA’s encryption inventory and expands the number of Families and Groups available for organizing and controlling secure communications and key sharing.

Operation Level upgrades are permanent. A STIKABA can be upgraded, but it cannot be downgraded.

Personal

50 Encryptions • 1 Family • 1 Group

Personal is the factory-default Operation Level and provides an introduction to the capabilities of STIKABA.

It is intended primarily for product evaluation and protection of personal information where encrypted data is not being shared with other users.

The Personal level provides 50 encryptions and one Family containing one Group, allowing the user to experience STIKABA encryption while maintaining a simple key-management structure.

Associate

100 Encryptions • 2 Families • 2 Groups per Family

Associate expands STIKABA from primarily personal encryption into shared secure communications.

It is well suited for demonstrating STIKABA’s ability to share keys and encrypted information between authorized STIKABAs. The additional Families and Groups make it practical to establish different sharing relationships among friends, family members, associates, or recipients of encrypted information and subscriptions.

Upgrading from Personal to Associate adds 50 encryptions to the STIKABA’s encryption inventory.

Partner

150 Encryptions • 7 Families • 15 Groups per Family

Partner is the first Operation Level designed specifically for a multi-person organization.

Its expanded Family and Group structure allows encryption keys and authorized recipients to be organized according to the needs of the organization.

Families and Groups can represent, for example, departments, projects, customers, information classifications, data types (docs, photos, financial), or other organizational structures.

This provides considerable flexibility in determining which STIKABAs receive and can use particular encryption keys.

Upgrading to Partner adds another 50 encryptions.

Enterprise

200 Encryptions • 31 Families • 45 Groups per Family

Enterprise is designed for professional and commercial organizations that routinely exchange confidential information with clients, customers, employees, or other authorized recipients.

Typical users could include banks, accounting firms, attorneys, financial organizations, corporations, and other businesses that need controlled distribution of sensitive information.

Enterprise also provides the capability to originate secure encrypted subscriptions and newsletters, allowing information to be distributed to designated groups of STIKABA users while maintaining cryptographic control over who can decrypt it.

Upgrading to Enterprise adds another 50 encryptions and substantially increases the number of available Families and Groups.

Director

250 Encryptions • 60 Families • 64 Groups per Family

Director is the highest STIKABA Operation Level and provides the system’s greatest organizational and administrative capability.

It is intended particularly for individuals responsible for managing encryption resources across an organization, such as a Chief Security Officer, security administrator, or other designated authority.

In addition to its expanded Family and Group capabilities, a Director-level STIKABA can purchase certain STIKABA resources in bulk quantities at improved pricing and transfer those resources to other STIKABAs within the organization.

Transferable resources can include:

Encryption • Operation Level Upgrades • Loss Mitigation

This allows an organization to centralize purchasing and then allocate STIKABA capabilities where they are needed without requiring every individual STIKABA user to purchase those resources independently.

Capabilities Common to Every Operation Level

Regardless of Operation Level, every STIKABA retains its fundamental encryption and decryption capabilities.

A STIKABA can encrypt data whenever it has sufficient encryption inventory. The resulting encrypted information can be sent to other authorized STIKABAs.

A STIKABA at any Operation Level can decrypt encrypted information when it possesses the required valid Family/Group relationship, appropriate key material, and a valid cipher file.

Operation Levels therefore do not determine the fundamental strength of STIKABA encryption. Instead, they determine the capacity, organizational flexibility, key-sharing structure, and administrative capabilities available to the user.

Designed to Grow With the User

The five Operation Levels allow the same STIKABA platform to serve dramatically different requirements:

Personal — Individual protection and evaluation
Associate — Small-scale sharing
Partner — Multi-person organizations
Enterprise — Professional and customer-facing secure communications
Director — Organization-wide security administration and resource management

A STIKABA can begin as a personal encryption device and, as requirements increase, be upgraded into a sophisticated organizational encryption and key-management platform.

One STIKABA architecture. Five Operation Levels. Scalable from personal privacy to enterprise-wide secure communications.
