The STIKABA was born out of the need for secure data and convergence of technology to make this happen.
Where the American M-134-C cryptographic machine (aka SIGABA) used by the U.S. military during World War II used a electromechanical solution, the time was right for a 21st century solution to meet these challenges: modern microelectronics technology.
Microelectronics provided the all the needed elements to make this solution possible. Current microelectronics had features such as processor speed, standardized high speed communications capability, cryptographic quality True Random Number Generator (TRNG) to generate Keys and the One Time Pad (OTP), non-volatile memory, and packaging (USB).
